OE Signature 2026 - Our First Touch of Handwritten Batik, Made at Its Own Pace

03 October 2026 Oemah Etnik

Are you moving at your own pace, or the pace you think you should be?

It is easy to compare where we are with where others seem to be. But everyone has a different timeline, and sometimes moving forward means taking a different route.

That thought became the starting point for OE Signature 2026: Own Pace.

A New Chapter for OE Signature

Launching on October 2, 2026, in celebration of Hari Batik Nasional, OES 2026 marks a special moment for OE Signature.

For the first time, OES explores handwritten batik, bringing it together with the hand-stamped batik that has long been part of Indonesian textile traditions.

The process feels especially meaningful because handwritten batik leaves room for the human hand to be seen.

The branching lines move across the fabric with subtle differences in pressure, direction, and form. No two movements need to feel exactly the same. Together with the more structured character of hand-stamped batik, they create a balance between something carefully defined and something more spontaneous.

It is a small reminder of what we believe about progress too: you can have a direction without having to follow exactly the same path as everyone else.

Our First Handwritten Batik

At the heart of OES 2026 is our first handwritten batik exploration.

The base of the textile uses Pekalongan hand-stamped batik, complemented by handwritten branching lines. Within the composition, lines, dots, and flowers come together as details that speak to different phases of becoming.

The lines move in different directions, much like how our lives rarely move in one straight path.

The dots bring moments of pause into the composition, while the flowers add another layer to the motif, giving the textile a sense of softness and life.

What makes the combination special is that it does not try to make the batik feel perfect or overly uniform. Instead, the handwritten elements allow small differences to remain visible.

And that is exactly what we wanted.

Because the things made by hand carry something that machines cannot completely replicate: the presence of the person who made them.

Designed to Be Lived In

While the story behind OES 2026 is personal, the collection itself remains very much about everyday life.

The hand-stamped batik gives the pieces a stronger and more defined character, making them easy to style and wear across different occasions. The handwritten details add individuality without making the pieces difficult to live with.

The collection comes in a considered palette of purple, blue, grey, and white.

The deeper tones bring a more grounded and mature feeling, while the lighter shades keep the pieces versatile. They can be dressed up, worn more casually, styled together, or made your own depending on where the day takes you.

Because for us, meaningful heritage should not only be admired. It should have a place in your everyday life.

The Details Tell Another Part of the Story

The idea of different experiences coming together is also reflected in the construction of the garments through 3D patchwork and pleats.

The 3D patchwork combines different pieces, textures, and dimensions within one garment. Some edges are left raw, while other surfaces create contrast. Instead of trying to make every element uniform, the treatment allows each part to remain visible while still becoming part of one complete piece.

This reflects another part of the Own Pace idea: we are not shaped by one experience alone. The different phases we go through, including the unexpected ones, eventually become part of who we are.

Pleats approach the same idea through movement. Their changing directions across the silhouettes create lines that are not completely fixed or predictable. They can shift, bend, and change direction, much like the paths we take in real life.

You can have an idea of where you are going, and still find yourself taking a different route along the way.

OES 2026 does not try to make that feel like something that needs to be corrected. Instead, these details allow those changes to become part of the design.

Made at Its Own Pace

OES 2026 is ultimately a collection about giving ourselves permission to move differently.

It does not mean giving up ambition. It does not mean that we should stop wanting more or stop moving forward. It simply means understanding that your pace does not have to look like someone else's.

Maybe your next step is a big one. Maybe it is a small one. Maybe you are taking a pause. Maybe you are starting again. Maybe you are still figuring things out.

All of those moments count.

And just like the pieces of our 3D patchwork, every experience eventually becomes part of something bigger. This is what Own Pace means to us.

To keep moving, but in a way that feels true to who you are. To appreciate the process, not only the result.

And to remember that there is nothing wrong with taking your own time to become.

OE Signature 2026, made for your own pace.
